Robyn & Kye
29/9/18
An urban setting today in the best city in the world, Bristol! (Neil told me to write that as he was born there). Two new venues for us today, the magnificent St Mary Redcliffe Church followed by The Royal Marriott Hotel. We arrived at Robyn’s room expecting to find the normal hustle and bustle of bridal prep but instead we found a bride, four bridesmaids and the couple’s daughter, Dolly, all ready and calmly waiting for 1.00pm to arrive. Robyn’s dress was nothing like anyone was expecting but never the less it was absolutely stunning, hanging romantically on the wardrobe door awaiting it’s big reveal. Each of the bridesmaids shoes all lined up, looking like heeled ballet pumps perfect for the dancing girls. Before heading over to the church we waited for Dad to see his daughter for the first time, and what an emotional moment it was with Mum looking on too. Once there we met up with a very dapper looking groom in his tux and spats…nice one Kye.
Outside we waited for Robyn’s arrival in the 1950s fire engine, a touching gesture to her fireman Dad, Mick. Due to roadworks Robyn decided to halt the traffic and jump out of the engine and make a mad dash to the church so she wasn’t too late…brilliant. The ceremony was awesome in such a fairytale venue with the choir singing and the bells ringing, just perfect. After a few photos outside the church we headed back to the Marriott. A quick drink for the newly weds and then a walk through College Green and to Park Street, capturing some true documentary style pictures while also stopping the traffic!. After dinner ‘Dolly’s Trolly’ came out full of sweets for the younger guests with the proud owner in full control…go Dolly! The evening kicked off with the cutting of the unique upside down cake in the shape of a chandelier and the first dance…yes Kye, you can dance too! A few songs from Robyn’s close friend to start the party and then it was time for us to leave.
Thank you both for a truly amazing day it was pleasure to be a part of it.
