Kate & Laurence – A sophisticated summer wedding at Leigh Court – Garden games, cocktails & crazy golf

What a bridal entrance!

Kate & Lawrence’s summer wedding at Leigh Court in Bristol was all about atmosphere, people, and letting the day unfold naturally. No rigid plans, no overthinking — just a seriously good time built around the things they love.

Leigh Court is an ideal venue for couples who want freedom and flexibility, and on this day it really delivered. The weather was absolutely fantastic, which meant guests could spill out onto the lawns all afternoon, drinks in hand, soaking it all in. With beautiful light and plenty of space to move, the whole day felt open and easy.

Kate & Lawrence were married in the stunning Grand Hall — a space that brings instant impact without needing anything forced or over-styled. The ceremony felt calm, honest, and very much about the two of them. They were relaxed, present, and clearly focused on enjoying the moment rather than performing it.

After the ceremony, the day flowed straight outside. Cocktails on the lawn, crazy golf set up for anyone feeling competitive, and a bouncy castle that was used just as enthusiastically by adults as it was by kids. It all felt playful and unpretentious — entertainment that encouraged people to join in rather than just watch.

The pace of the day never felt rushed. Conversations stretched out, laughter carried across the gardens, and groups formed and reformed as people moved between games, drinks, and catching up. These are the kinds of weddings that suit documentary photography so well — nothing staged, nothing interrupted, just real moments happening naturally.

The speeches were a standout. Funny, warm, and genuinely personal, with the room swinging easily between big laughs and quieter reactions. The expressions, the timing, the shared looks — those are always some of the most telling moments of the day.

As evening arrived, the energy shifted seamlessly into party mode. The dance floor filled quickly and stayed full, with no easing into it — just people ready to celebrate properly. The good weather, the laid-back setup, and the clear focus on enjoyment all came together perfectly.

Kate & Lawrence, thank you for having us along to document your wedding at Leigh Court. A relaxed, people-first day with brilliant weather, great energy, and a celebration that never tried too hard — it didn’t need to.

If you’re planning a Leigh Court wedding in Bristol or a laid-back South West wedding where the focus is on real moments, good light, and a genuinely good time, days like this are exactly why documentary wedding photography works so well.
